WEEK 10: New (Draper, UT) Companion is great!! Mike joined the church!!

What an amazing week!!

Another Baptism for one of the most amazing selfless caring people I have ever met, MIKE GOT BAPTISED on Saturday. Its amazing to see how the gospel can change someone's life and bring so much happiness and replace the darkness with light!

Sister Snyder and I. Sister Knight and Sister Hansen

Mike got baptized and I am so proud of him! Amazing person!
I will be honest being on a mission has definitely been so hard for me. I have been missing my career and way of life that I'd gotten used to and the being able to help those around me back home. I've been trying to look for the every day little miracles in my life to help me recognize everything.  Sometimes it's hard to see the good in the bad but it's so worth it and makes life a little bit more easy when I'm able to do that. Sometimes we have a plan for ourselves and even though it's scary, you have to just let God take over and trust that the things going on are for the better. Right?

Sis Snyder
I was talking to Sister Snyder (BTW, she's been our 14 months and she is from Draper, UT) about how 2 weeks ago I was Emergency Transferred into Nixa to be with Sister Knight .. when transfers were happening in 2 weeks anyways, why me. but really, it doesn't matter?  I'm where I'm needed most.  I was loving Harrison, AK and the ward just made me feel right at home and I had made lots of connections and loved everyone there, it was so hard to leave.

Sister Snyder and I pretty much whitewashed this area this past week.  It's been a blessing for me in a way to be with someone I actually feel like I'm able to help because I know what I'm doing. It's taken a lot of time for my mind to be focused and actually want to be here, but it's looking better and I'm grateful to have an amazing companion who loves me.  We get along great, having lots of fun and helping each other adjust.  It's been a blessing to have 2 weeks to build relationship with the Nixa ward so we're not both brand new to the area.  People here are great, I love the ward.  As much as I miss my old ward Nixa is home for now and I'm dedicated to doing the very best work I can do here. Things will always be hard but it's worth every minute of the struggle, when we get the chance to look back on it...that's life, right?

Lots of good stuff is about to happen to Sister Snyder and I, I can feel it.  We will I'm sure have a lot of great things to share with you when I get online every week.

Doing hair in the Church parking lot during Transfers for the sisters
We are coloring lots of hair here in Nixa, Mo and I'm slowly building my ,missionary :) clientele here.  I have a salon I do hair at on my P-days and I charge nothing so I'm able to serve people in a way that I didn't think would be possible out here.

We are building relationship with lots of less active members and we have 2 families we got back to church and we are preparing to help them make it to the temple this year. The work is going forward and I am excited to see what this companionship brings.

THANK YOU for all the love and kind words of support.  I love all the emails I get and the paper mail too.  I really couldn't do this without my family's love, encouragement and support every week.   Thank you to all my amazing friends too, I love you.  I miss you all so much, wherever you are in the world.

Have an amazing week.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from Thomas S. Monson. I'm so sad he passed away,  another amazing person doing the Lords work on the other side.
