I've loved Sis.Knight. I'm sad - we have only been together for 2 weeks. Our friendship will however last a life time.
Sister Knight and I - Last few days together until Sister Gilmour TAKES OVER NIXA, MO |
This week I've had a lot of amazing spiritual experiences that have strengthened my testimony so much. I'm so grateful for the blessings and the challenges of a mission. You learn so much about others and yourself. You build a relationship with the Lord that is so special because you learn to rely on him.
This week me and Sister Knight got done early from a lesson and it was about 7:20 pm and we couldn't go in for the night yet so we went to go fill up our gas.. as we are filling up our gas we are trying to figure out what to do for the rest of the night. We said a prayer and I told Sister Knight to go head back towards the apartment and on the way we were coming up on a Bar called "Bairs". I got a feeling to go buy french fries. I was confused because we just ate 1/ish hour before so I told my comp that we needed to go there, she said we cant because someone in the ward said we shouldn't go there. I began to tell her I wouldn't be prompted if we weren't supposed to be there if it wasn't safe for us both to go. So we pulled over and prayed and at the end of the prayer all I receive was a "GO". So we went and sat down and I heard the Spirit tell me that the reason we are here is for the waitress that was serving us. I'm freaking out because I don't want to make this awkward so me and Sister Knight are trying to figure out how to make this conversation not weird. Anyways... she comes back and we tell her someone in our ward told us how amazing the food is here and we aren't from around here so we came to try it. She asked where we were from and BOOM...that was our opening. She sat at our table and we taught her about our beliefs and her boyfriend who works at the bar too joined her. We gave them both a book of Mormon and set up a return Appt and are meeting with them this Wednesday. They both are interested and in mission terms SO READY for something new.
The Spirit works in weird ways, we all receive prompting differently are ways that we understand and will follow. So EVERYONE..... always follow those prompting if you need some french Fries.
I hope everyone knows how much they all are loved and that our Loving Heavenly Father is always there for them. He knows us by name and our every day struggles. YOU ARE NEVER ALONE. The Lord places people in our path to help us in the life. Be an example and know that you are loved and get through anything with the Help and the Guidance with the spirit and the Lord guiding you to where you need to be. You are here for a reason and the people around you need you. Be yourself and never be afraid to be who you are.
Happy New Years. xxxx
Make 2018 the best and set some goals for the new year. A new year, a new you.

The church is true.
I LOVE YOU ALL.
Love Sister Gilmour
Also Sheldon got baptized - HOORAY - I was able to go to Harrison for it and also see the best ward ever. I'm so grateful for the friendships I've made in both my areas so far.
We love you Brooklyn!!!
