WEEK 8: Merry Christmas Everyone

Yesterday was an amazing day, getting to talk with the family at home, as well as Chloe & Thomas.  we got fed ... being super stuffed with food to the point my belly is probably going to explode. We have awesome members who love us, so grateful.

With Sister Knight

Thank you everyone for the love and support. Missions are hard but its worth it. I hope everyone had a great day and spent lots of family time.

This is a short email with pictures and quotes that has been helping me a lot lately.

With all the change and hard thing going on health wise.. but I know that my Heavenly father is aware of me and the things that are going on. I love this Gospel and I know it is 100% true, or else I wouldn't be out here being an instrument in the Lords hands.

I see miracles daily and I want to invite Everyone to study a Christ like attribute and study and pray to develop that Christ like attribute the work in is for a week. He is the ultimate perfect example and I one day want to become more as he is, to love and to serve others as he himself did to all the people he came in contact with.

Christ like attribute You-tube video, go check it out:

Become as he is, and let your light so shine among those you come in contact with.
Perfection is pending and I know that with time we can become like Christ.

I love each of you. I want you to know I pray for all of you back home and I want everyone to know you are never alone.

WEEK 7: Surprise, I moved!! Missouri!! Crazy week, BUT SO MANY MIRACLES

I moved.... There's been a lot of crazy stuff happening here in my mission this week, so busy and for me it's been a crazy last 48 hours.
My new address is: 1049 N Pebble Creek Drive, Nixa,  Missouri 65714

MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL

I've been out almost 2 months and the crazy things I've experienced shock me to no end but I'm so grateful to have had all of these different experiences.

I just got moved in the middle of the transfer to Nixa, Missouri suburb of Springfield.  I have a new companion named Sister Knight who is from Provo UT, up near the Older Provo Temple and Rock Canyon.   She has been out 2 months.... she's is still training herself, so we will see how it goes but I have high hopes and know that we are together for a reason now.  We have a pretty good amount of people in our new area that we're working with.  I'm in a really nice area and finding is normally done through members and less actives.

Sad to say goodbye to my companion.
Most people can't say they've had 3 comps in their 1st month and a half in the mission field - lucky me. I guess I'm just special.:)
My new Home - Mom in Nixa.
I think she looks and acts a lot like one of my cool aunts:)

We live with an amazing couple from the ward, they are awesome.  They have the biggest hearts, and take such good care of us.  I'm so excited to be here with them.  Amazing people.

I don't have a truck anymore but I drive a car though, it's really nice:).

Sometimes I don't know why certain things are happening to me but I'm so grateful to the power of prayer, for everything I'm experiencing here. Heavenly Father has our best interest at heart and we need to trust him and let him help us as we go through life.  YOU ARE NEVER ALONE.

The 7 boys are the Goiets and I love this family so much.
This week I was able to see Sheldon grow and get closer to his baptismal date in 1 week.  It was hard to leave him and everyone else at first that I had built relationships with the ward.  All the new investigators we have found through me doing their hair.   I know I'll go back to Harrison Arkansas, and the people there will always have a special place in my heart.  So many miracles happened this week and I'm so grateful for the Spirit and for the guidance and protection it gives me.

Bro and Sister Whitney... also known as my best friends, so grateful!! There are good people everywhere.

First Miracle

We went tracking and ran into a young man named Brent who was telling us a week ago that he was talking to his girlfriend about going to a Mormon church because he wanted to learn more. He didn't know where the church was so he just let it go for a few days.  Until 3 Sister Missionaries knocked on his door and taught him more about Christ and we taught him the Restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon.  Lessons are coming along.  I've been working and studying a lot.  We made a return appointment and we're going back on Wednesday this week. Dang I got transferred.... but it still made my experience and week amazing. I know that God is preparing people for each of us and he places us in their path when they are ready. So grateful for the guidance of the spirit.

Christmas is coming up, I hope everyone is doing Light the World. We have been doing service all week and have loved sharing a message about Jesus Christ.

Jesus taught:

"Forgive men their trespasses."

—Matthew 6:14

Allowing anger or resentment to fester will never lead to happiness. We must make amends with people before bitterness destroys our important relationships.

One thing I've been working on is forgiving those that have done me wrong.  We must make amend s with those people before it to late. As Christmas comes up, I want to invite everyone to pick a "Christ Attribute" that you can work on for a week.  We are so blessed and have so much to be thankful for.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS

WEEK 6: Short but sweet. Another Week of adventures

Hello Everyone. I'm alive and still in Arkansas!

I'll just be doing lots of pictures today.

My talents are blessing people's lives. I've been doing lots of hair for those who can't afford it.  It's helping me keep my skills sharp by helping others.  I'm so glad that I'm getting to use this talent that I've worked so hard to develop.

We've been involved in lots of service this week as well as helping less active members clean their yards, all are things that I'm used to doing:).  We do a lot of service because we all know it's important to building the friendship and trust first.

We have 3 BAPTISM dates set and they all are progressing nicely, please pray for us and them

  • Sheldon and Donna on Dec 30th and
  • Paul on January 22nd

we added 9 new investigators this week and 6 of them came to church!!!!

We are working hard and playing hard for sure. Having fun and figuring out this new life I'm experiencing as a full-time missionary is a process.  The work is hard but through God anything is possible.

This week was tough but it's always good to look for the good in the bad. The good always comes out on top.

Several people have asked for my current address so here it is:-

2110 Cypress #2
Harrison AR 72601

Take care of yourselves and enjoy the Holiday Season and do things that will help you and others feel the Spirit of Christ.

Send me pictures of your lives.  I love seeing you all and what you're doing at home, please:):).

WEEK 5: I've been told to find Jesus this week because i'm a lost soul.

Hellooo everyone!

Its not snowing here at all, in fact its like 65 degrees and i'm missing the snow and home a lot right now, but this week has been great and i hope you all have had a great week too.

This week has been something close to a roller coaster! We spent time in Branson Missouri, Springfield Missouri, and in Bentonville Arkansas! We had meetings on top of meetings. I know that my leaders, the Lovelands and other missionaries, are inspired! It's crazy how many times they addressed the personal concerns I've had, that I've only shared through prayer.

One concept that has been on my mind a lot lately from the conferences is an idea our Mission President is pushing lately. He has been inviting us to think of two questions.

1. Am I teachable?
2. Am I willing to teach?

The three of us are still getting used to working around each other!

Our apartment is pretty small and all of our beds touch but it's a grand ol' time! Three is better than two!
our apartment

We started teaching this man named Sheldon! He's 20 and currently trying to figure out where he wants to go in life. When we shared about the Restoration of Christ's gospel and we repeated Joseph Smith's story, Sheldon stopped us and said that he had received these warm shivers up and down his body and he knows that it is true! He's been reading the Book of Mormon everyday since! That's my cool story for the week - it was hard to choose though because we get to see amazing things every week. We have set a Baptismal date for December 30 and we have 2 other Investigators on track to be baptized as well with Sheldon.

This week we ran into a lot of Angry people who just want us to let God do his work.  Lots of people seem to hate Mormons. It's okay though, i just smile and say have a great day and walk away. There are a lot of different religions, churches by many different names that I have never even heard of so I'm trying to learn what everyone believes so I know what I know and what they know.

I'm so beyond blessed to be apart of this Church and i know that with all my heart that this is the true church, and that Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of us and knows our struggles and knows us by name. I also know that Joseph smith was a prophet called of God and that he did restore the church on the earth.

My testimony grows everyday, even though some days we get yelled at or told there is something wrong with us and that we are bad people. I just keep remembering that i am never alone "WE" don't ever have to be alone in life, to walk with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as our constant companions to help us stay on the straight and narrow path.

This world is only getting more wicked and WE as members of this Church need to be ready for whatever the world may throw at us. I've been so blessed to be surrounded by all the amazing people i have in my life and i hope you all know i love you all so much. HAPPY DECEMBER!!!
